Keratron Scout Topograph

Keratron Scout topograph available at Procornea

The Keratron Scout topograph which is made by Opticon in Italy is now available at Procornea.

This (portable) topograph has a number of unique features . Besides the usual fixed position, the Keratron can also be ordered as “handheld unit”. Using this portable version, you can easily take reliable measurements at several locations. Furthermore you can make a combination of both with a number of accessories.

The Keratron has a small cone. This has the major benefit of allowing the user to capture topographical images very close to the eye. Therefore the measurements also cover a larger area of the corner.

With regular topographers the shadow of the nose often causes a problem, because of the small cone of the Keratron and the ability to take measurments near to the eye, this can be avoided.

For each new fitting it is important determine the patients tear film. With the help of the Keratron you can easily do this non-invasive (Nibut), whereat you also can measure the diameter of the cornea and the pupil. By expanding the software with the “pupillometry upgrade”, you can also measure the pupil in the dark using the infrared option.

EyeLite® software is of course available for the Keratron Scout.

This makes it easy for you to send us your patients details in order that we can offer you fitting advice or a second opinion.

The Keratron Scout can easily measure high aberrations in the cornea. This is very important when ftting Ortho-K lenses or when performing assesments for Refractive Surgery.
